DAY 4 OF 6

Deuteronomy 8:2–3, 10–18

The wilderness was not only a place Israel passed through. YHWH used it to expose what was in their hearts and teach them where their life and provision truly came from.

Read Deuteronomy 8:2–3 and 10–18.

1. What did YHWH want Israel to learn in the wilderness?
2. According to this passage, what danger came when Israel became comfortable and prosperous?
3. Where might you be tempted to look at what you have and quietly think, "My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth"?

Sukkot calls us to remember life in temporary dwellings and the God who provided in the wilderness. Consider today what it means to depend upon Him.
