DAY 6 OF 7

Yesterday you tested what you think you understand and asked whether you're willing to be corrected by the Word.
Today there's another question:
If this is what the LORD has said, am I willing to do it?
Studying Scripture isn't finished when we understand it. At some point, what we've learned has to change how we live.
DON'T STOP AT HEARING
James tells us to be doers of the Word, not merely hearers.
That's what we're practicing today.
There may still be things in Ephesians 4 you don't understand. That's okay. Keep studying them.
But don't let what you don't understand keep you from responding to what has become clear.
Maybe the Word has shown you something you need to change, begin, stop, repent of, or do differently.
Whatever it is, the question is:
What am I going to do about it?
THIS INCLUDES ME
Ephesians 4 has challenged me too.
If Messiah gave shepherds and teachers to equip the saints, I can't teach that and then continue doing things the same way.
I have to ask whether I'm actually equipping you to handle the Word, grow in maturity, and strengthen the Body.
That's part of why we're doing this.
TODAY'S WORK
Read Ephesians 4:11–16 one more time. Then look back through what you've done this week.
Answer these two questions:
What has the LORD shown me from His Word this week?
What am I going to do about it?
Be specific.
Then tomorrow, bring your Bible and your notebook.
Bring what you noticed. Bring your questions. Bring what you found. Bring what you're still unsure about.
You don't need everything figured out.
Come ready to listen, contribute, and work through the Word together.
Tomorrow, we'll bring it together.
