DAY 5 OF 7

Yesterday you started looking for answers to some of your questions.
Today I want you to take what you think you've learned and test it.
Because it's possible to study Scripture and still see what we expected to see.
WHAT DO YOU THINK PAUL IS SAYING?
In your notebook, write a few sentences explaining what you presently understand Ephesians 4:11–16 to be saying.
Then go back to the Word and ask:
- Can I show this from the passage?
- Does the context support it?
- Does it agree with the rest of Scripture?
- Is there anything that challenges what I think?
Don't just look for verses that prove you're right.
Look for the things that might prove you wrong too.
BE WILLING TO BE WRONG
This matters.
I can study something carefully and still get it wrong. So can you.
If we're going to grow together, we have to come to the Word willing to be corrected by it.
The Word gets the final say.
So underneath what you've written, answer these two questions:
Am I willing to be wrong?
If the LORD shows me from His Word that I'm wrong, am I willing to change?
That's your work for today.
We're coming together to understand the Word and grow together in Messiah.
Bring what you found to Shabbat. Bring what you're unsure about too. We're not coming together to defend our answers.
Tomorrow, we'll ask what this requires from us.
