COMPLETEDWalking Toward Shabbat

DAY 7 OF 7

Shabbat · September 5
Come ready tostrengthen the Body.
People gathered around open Bibles for shared study

Family, we've made it to Shabbat.

All week you've been working through Ephesians 4:11–16. You've read, observed, asked questions, studied, tested what you found, and thought about how you need to respond.

Today we bring that work together.

Take a few minutes and look back through your notebook.

Choose one thing to bring with you:

  • Something you discovered
  • A question you still have
  • Something you're unsure about
  • Something the Word challenged you on
  • Something you believe the LORD is asking you to do

You don't need to prepare a teaching.

Just bring your Bible, your notebook, and what you've been working through this week.

When we gather, come ready to share—but also come ready to listen.

Someone may have seen something you missed. Someone's question may cause all of us to look again. Something you found may strengthen somebody else.

That's part of being the Body.

Paul tells us that when we gather, everything should be done for building up, and it should be done properly and in order.

So we listen to one another.

We take each other back to the Word.

We're willing to be corrected.

And we remember that we have gathered before the LORD.

This week wasn't just about learning a Bible study method.

I've been asking how I can do a better job of equipping you, and you've been doing the work of becoming better equipped.

Now we bring those things together.

Paul describes a Body that grows:

“when each individual part does its work”

Ephesians 4:16

That's what we're beginning to practice.

Bring what you have. Come ready to listen. Come ready to contribute. Come ready to grow together.

I'll see you at Shabbat.
