One Lord, One Faith, All Scripture
COMPLETEDWalking Toward ShabbatDAY 2 OF 7
Monday · September 14
Learn to notice the movement.

Yesterday you read Ephesians 4:13–16 and asked where Paul says the Body is going.
Today I want you to slow down and notice how he gets there.
Before we explain the passage, let's make sure we've noticed what Paul actually wrote.
LOOK AT WHAT IS THERE
Read Ephesians 4:13–16 again.
Look for:
- Words describing unity
- Words describing maturity
- Words describing immaturity
- Things that can affect or influence the Body
- Things the members of the Body are doing
- References to Messiah
- Words describing growth
- Anything repeated or emphasized
Also watch for movement.
Paul doesn't give us a pile of disconnected ideas.
Something is happening from verse 13 through verse 16.
See if you can follow it.
TODAY'S WORK
Write down five to ten observations from Ephesians 4:13–16.
Keep them simple.
Write what the text says before writing what you think it means.
Then look over your observations and ask:
What changes from the beginning of this passage to the end?
Write down what you notice.
Tomorrow, we'll turn some of those observations into questions.
